The wine cvicek ptp expresses the character of its geographic origin, Dolenjska, which until today remains the only homeland of cvicek ptp.

The Dolenjska wine-growing district encompasses 4,275 ha and is geologically extremely diverse, while the climatic circumstances are also appropriate for vine growing. The southern parts gather enough sun for the successful growth of the vines and the precipitation with average total annual rainfall between 1,100 and 1,200 mm is also favourable for its growth. The same goes for the annual schedule of rainfall since there is during the growing season between April and October an average of over 100 mm of rain per month. In this region, centuries have formed a special type of wine with low alcohol content, cvicek ptp.

The world wine specialty cvicek ptp is a wine of rich, many centuries long tradition. It is made of reddish, red, and white vine varieties, which ripen in the Dolenjska wine-growing district.

Cvicek ptp of the Wine cellar Krsko excites us with its mild taste of high quality. Among the red wines in it prevail žametna crnina and Blaufränkisch, while the prevalent white wines are Portugais rouge, Italian Riesling, and Silvaner. This exact combination gives it its specific taste. Its quality is proven also by numerous awards from various wine competitions. Cvicek is a dry wine with low alcohol content of up to 10.0 vol. %, which reflects its homeland region of Dolenjska. Light, fresh, drinkable but at the same time lively wine cvicek ptp is the wine of the modern man.

Today cvicek is protected within the European Union with the mark ptp, recognised traditional denomination, which ensures it high quality and simultaneously sets strict rules, according to which it can only be produced in its one homeland, Dolenjska. This is what makes it unique.

Cvicek ptp of the Wine cellar Krsko creates opportunities for pleasant socialising and playfulness. Its characteristics are the light red colour with a ruby shade and pleasant fresh fruit aroma, resembling raspberries, strawberries, and currant.

It is an excellent wine for every day, appropriate for a contemporary lifestyle and culinary pleasures on various occasions. It is a perfect companion to many dishes since it compliments various different tastes with its lightness and vivacity, and is especially appropriate with dried meat and meat dishes. It develops the best aroma served at the temperature of 12 – 14 ºC in a stemware glass of special tulip shape.

Besides the incredible taste cvicek ptp also has many positive influences on our health since it contains, in comparison to other wines, significantly more acid and lower alcohol level. Peter Kaps, MD, in his book Cvicek tudi hrana in zdravilo (Cvicek as food and medicine) describes how cvicek ptp has a positive effect on digestion because it is a natural help with the stimulation in functioning of digestive organs, it stimulates the appetite, prevents insomnia, strengthens the blood circulation, helps people with low acid levels in their stomach, and those with increased blood pressure. Due to the low alcohol content and without fermented sugar it is classified among dietetic wines. Cvicek ptp is thus also appropriate for diabetics.
